The following factors influencing the construction of the deep-water berth 38 were examined:

  • the availability and cost of the spe-cified natural stone;
  • construction cost and completion time;
  • the technological features and eco-logical impact of the construction.

A development plan was put together for the South East Cargo Handling Area that envisaged an increase in cargo turnover up to 600,000 TEU per year.

A pile pier design was selected for the construction, with a berth length of 340m, width 110m, and approval of the Russian State Inspectorate (Glavgosexpertiza Rossii) was duly received (N 268-10/ГГЭ- 6521/04).

The client, NUTEP LLC, gave the following feedback: «Morstroytechnology is a long-standing and reliable partner of NUTEP LLC. The company has undertaken a huge amount of design work on the South-East Cargo Handling Area of the port of Novorossiysk».

As part of the master plan for the development of the terminal, NUTEP LLC has begun construction work on berth 38, with Morstroytechnology supervising the construction process.
