On 4-5 October the Rail Deliveries of Mining and Smelting Cargoes conference was held in Moscow. As is always the case with Maxconference events, there were many interesting speeches and presentations from senior industry figures. It would have been very difficult to remain on the sidelines and not take active part in the discussions.

This year the central theme was coal: exports are increasing, while the capacity of both the ports and the rail nework that serves them remains limited.

Alexander Goloviznin gave a presentation to conference attendees on the development of coal-handling capacity in the ports sector. Currently there is a deficit on the market, but in just a few years the situation could change with the construction of new terminals.
